Nog, nursemyra and I accidently had lunch at Yebra yesterday. We’d just meant to go for a nice long Sunday walk but after a COLD BEER pitstop we decided we were hungry (and Yebra was just around the corner). Had some lovely pork loin in sherry sauce with pinenuts and cinnamon, then tried the grilled hake with langostines and baby eels. Mmmm. . .

that all looks really fabulous but I would have to pass on the eels π just can’t ‘do’ eels!

You have to walk the walk (under the noonday sun), before you can drink the drink and eat the eat. Them’s the rules. Or something.

Can’t I just do the walk the walk, drink the drink and eat the eat and tippy toe ever so gently around the eels π

What are baby eels like? Isn’t that a Basque dish?

considering that a typical meal or me involves sniffing items from my fridge to guess the age, or opening something in a cardboard box from my freezer? oh, yeah! Can’t wait!
but i’m with 70’s – i like my meat and seafood processed beyond recognition. can’t eat prawns/shrimp – because i have had (and continue to have – at least in dehydrated form) pet Sea Monkeys…

Yes, baby eels – angulas – are typically a Basque dish, mister anchovy. And they are DELICIOUS! Usually prepared very simply with just olive oil and garlic.
I’m sure if daisy and 70steen were told they were a sort of seafood pasta they would love them.
“i like my meat and seafood processed beyond recognition”
