Tuesday was a kind of “transition” day after getting back from holidays, which also included dealing with the plumber till about 4pm. So yesterday it was time to get started organising my life again. As I had a rather long to-do list I decided to skip the gym and get out first thing in order to get as much done before it got too HOT (my gym membership is for mornings only 8.30-2.00). I also had to get back in time for three appointments to show the two available rooms next door, which were starting around 1 o’clock. It seemed like a typical busyish day and I certainly wasn’t expecting everything to turn out as well as it did…
First stop was the bank to try and figure out why I hadn’t been able to access my account online all month. Got that sorted, though seeing the balance made me panic a little. But onwards. Since my dongle experience had ended up being less than I’d been led to believe – patchy connection in MΓ‘laga, none whatsoever in Zahara – I decided to try returning it. Got the expected run around and doubletalk from the salesclerk, but nobody gets her money back quite like the az, and half an hour later I had shed myself of a useless gadget and had some extra cash in my pocket. Yay!
After some food shopping (lots of nice fresh veg and some free-range chicken) came home to make a curry for lunch and wait for the prospective tenants to show up. Really this had been something that had kept me awake a couple of nights in Zahara, and here it was five days until September 1st and there was still only one tenant next door. It had been a gamble keeping on the extra apartment for another year, but Pepe had given me the summer off, so to speak, and so I decided to risk it. But it meant I had to have three tenants by September 1st. Well, the first person to come and see the place loved it and decided in about five minutes that she would take the interior room. So half an hour later I had her deposit money and we’d made plans for her to move in the next day.Β The second person to come also fell in love with the remaining room (with fab view of the Giralda tower) but said she wanted to think it over for the rest of the day. I promised her first option if someone else came along and wanted the room … which is exactly what happened a few hours later! I couldn’t believe it. There I’d been all worried about getting stuck paying extra rent and within a day the whole place had been rented out until next July and I’ll be making a bit of income from the deal. Yay again!
Meanwhile, Nog & I made some headway getting stuff planned for English classes and placed ads in new places. I finally got all my holiday things unpacked and did several loads of washing. Enjoyed some lovely low-carb food. And by the end of the day things really felt like they were falling into place in a very good way. It seemed an auspicious start for taking my life back. One day at a time.

Sounds good – keep thinking positive

Tuesday was like that for me – I love days when it all comes together!
Of course yesterday I ended up on antibiotics and painkillers as two of my incisions seem to be infected (4 weeks on) and I’ve been told to go back to the hospital in 2 weeks for an additional, unplanned check-up because of this.
BUT! I don’t care because the drugs aren’t stopping me from exercising and all the extra endorphins are making me really happy and active. Which makes me more happy. So it’s the opposite of a vicious circle really.
More days like that for all of us please!

How very dare you tell me how to think, Johnny … π
Yeah, I love it when a day comes together like that, ismarah. Today has been pretty good too. The third tenant came by with her deposit around noon, and before that I went to the gym. I was under the impression that there were no classes in August, but I happened to barge in on a pilates class … and was made to feel welcome so – what the heck – I grabbed a large ball and draped myself over it. And it was nice. Got about 3/4 of a pilates class and later went upstairs to ride The Bike.
Then came home to find Nog doing some housework and we got on to sending out SMS text messages to all our students, announcing that we were “back in business” after the summer … and so far response has been quite good.
If you have an incision infection, you might do well to take things a bit easy. Or am I talking to a brick wall (like me)? Can’t really argue with “if it feels good then do it”. But just take care not to overdo it. Okay?

Great news about renting the rooms! And getting your dongle refund, too. I’m so glad things look to be falling into place!

Don’t forget to eat your veggies! (Ducks behind BBJP)
So glad your life is falling into place in a good way. See, you are being rewarded for putting all that positive energy into your own healing where it needed to be. The Universe is showing you that it was a good idea!
I too have been rewarded for allowing myself to relax and let events play out as they “should”. I had lots of time this summer to devote to the garden and to my own pursuits, and now that fall is starting to arrive I am hearing from clients who haven’t been around for a while. My calendar is filling up and so is our checking account (finally).
Your bank account will refill too.

There’s plenty of room to duck behind BBJP – believe me!

And I can’t say this enough – EAT YOUR BANANAS!
Brick Walls – please raise your hands. At least I’m in good company
I’m not doing a huge amount – a 50 minute walk with a friend through the forest every other day, with a bit of stretching afterwards. But that is SUCH an improvement on earlier this year that I’m ecstatic. While an infection is an inconvenience I’m mostly just annoyed that it hasn’t healed yet – school is about to start back up again and the traipse into London takes ages. All such little stuff to complain about and it’s great to be able to be grumpy and have a temper and exercise and not just mope around in a hormonal fugue state.

Yay! Go az!! You know, I think the day turned out so well at least partly because of the way you handled it: you didn’t take no for an answer with the dongle people and you were obviously friendly and welcoming to the apartment-hunters. So, again, go az!

A 50-minute walk sounds pretty good to me, Ismarah. And oh yeah, bananas! Must start eating bananas.
Can I hire you as my Life Coach, woo?

Seems as a good day indeed *thumbsup*
My exercise re-uptake is not getting any closer π¦ The last five weeks at w*rk (after returning from my summer vacation) have been extremely busy, and I’ve had to cancel almost all my classes due to working late.
Today I got an unexpected calm day at w*rk with no new appointments booked and I’ve finally catched up with the backlog. The aqua aerobics class at 4pm was about to actually happen! – but… just after lunch I got a text message from the Sports Centre saying that the class was cancelled …
*sigh*

“EAT YOUR BANANAS!” That reminded me that I brought a banana upstairs to eat while working and now can’t remember what I did with it… More and more like Mom every day!
My thoughts on the good days are that sometimes you get a big plate of shit handed you and other days it’s a saucer full of milk… or a bowl of cherries… or something… something nice…. You gotta just hope it’s not the plate of shit…
And, yeah… that’s probably the least helpful bit of philosophy you’ll get from anyone today. I guess what I mean is that I am glad that for once, you are getting more cherries and milk than shit.
