Yesterday was Nog’s 57th birthday!
And this is what we did. Because this is what we do about birthdays here at casa az … celebrate the heck out of them! Had a wonderful lunch at La Azotea and then a pleasant evening at home watching films and snibbling cats.

Happy birthday, Nog! Wish I could have been there, looks like lunch was great. I’ll be 57 in June. . . hard to believe I’ve gotten so close to 60 when I can still remember when it seemed impossible that I would ever be 21.

It was a very nice celebration, though we had to walk there in the pouring rain! The place is run by a lovely couple – he’s Spanish, she’s American – and the food is wonderful and quite reasonably priced. We shared three half raciones (something between a tapa and a main course) and then Nog had a dessert (called Aroma de Sevilla), and that was plenty. The service was great and we ended up talking with Juan the owner quite a bit. It really was a very fun afternoon. Doncha love how happy Nog looks in the lower corner pic?
And now I’m going to go hide my emergency credit card…
