I’m a bit late with my post today because, well, I’ve actually been too busy enjoying my day. What’s that you say – az enjoying a Sunday??? Truth is, I’m feeling extremely well since my trip to Málaga. I came home last night with the very distinct feeling that … well, that I was happy. Really and truly happy. And so when I got up this morning I enjoyed spending time organising photos and doing some other stuff online. But it was such a gorgeous day that it was a shame to stay indoors, so Nog and I went out for a long walk. On the way home I gave my friend Bizzy a call because we were getting hungry and I remembered that I had been invited to stop by her restaurant L’Oca Giuliva for lunch one day – an invitation that included Nog – so it seemed like a good moment to take her up on her offer. We had a great time and it felt good to give Nog a treat, especially as he’d done such a good job of taking care of the boys while I was away.
So, that is our lunch up there … fabulous. Some spinach and provolone crostone, a fresh & crunchy endive salad with creamy gorgonzola dressing, and even dessert! I almost never eat dessert, but Bizzy insisted, so we shared strawberry “carpaccio” with vanilla icecream and pistachios, and a delicious tiramisu. Bliss.
After lunch we walked over to see if my virtual photographer buddy Antonio Cid was at work. I’ve known him for months now online but had never met him in person. Then I found out that he works weekends at a small bar near my house, so I decided it was time to stop by and say hello face-to-face. And of course it felt like we’d always known each other, very easy chatting, and we had a really nice visit.
And now Nog and I are back home. He’s reading and I’m taking care of some Sevilla Tapas updates and doing a few other things before I stop to make an evening snack. And then maybe watch a film and hit the hay. You know, I could really get the hang of Sundays if they were always this pleasant. Oh, and did I mention I am happy?
More on that tomorrow…
How was your Sunday?

sunday was fun! 😀 enjoying fathers day with my family!
for teenagers like me, sundays aren’t usually as fun, cus you’ve got to face up to the facts that your going to school tomorrow. even though that maybe the case today, fathers day has been 100000000000000% as fun :DDD

The weather here in the Irish midlands has been stunning! I spent most of the day walking: Charleville woods in the morning, and the Grand Canal in the afternoon (my parents live near one and I live near the other). It’s been cloudless and scorching all day.
TRiG.

Loving the happiness! I spent Sunday recovering from Saturday’s street party – a time honoured tradition in Bellevue Crescent; all the cars are banished for the weekend, children run riot, bbq’s and picnics out on the street, live music (including me in my choir!), a bar and general merry mayhem. Today was glorious sunshine and we finished off all the food with a communal lunch (see facebook for pics). Really lovely, but am shattered now.

Heh, thanks. Did you notice it was a vegetarian lunch? You’ve got to try making that crostone – it was gorgeous. And dead simple.

As I (again) didn’t get to sleep until after 5am, I spent most of it in bed dozing or reading — with the exception of tracking dozing and apologizing to my friend Dianne who I accidentally stood up when I went to the wrong theatre and she went to the right one. We never did meet up and through a series of unfortunate and stupid events never were able to make contact. She wasn’t mad, much to my relief and we will be meeting up later in the week.
When I finally DID get up, I took Mom for one of our usual “little drives” and ended up on Land O Nod Road (I kid you not…. that is the name). On the way, I rescued two turtles from the middle of the road. The first (of, as yet, unidentified species) I was able to carry and take in the car until we found a stream to release it by. The second was a smallish but very feisty (and stinky) Snapping Turtle whom I goaded across the road with the snow brush from the trunk of the car.
Since Snappers are VERY strong, VERY fast, and can give a vicious and septic bite, I discovered that the easiest was to get a smallish Snapper across the road is to flip it on its back and push it with something. The snow brush worked well but if it had been any bigger, it would have been to heavy to push.
That made up for the Mourning Dove I accidentally clocked two weeks ago….

I wish it was possible to capture the essence of such lovely days. Then one could uncork the bottle and have a sniff on the not so good days.
