dongleComing  to you live from Málaga via dongle!

Imagine my shock and horror surprise when Manolo informed me the other day that his apartment in Málaga didn’t have internet. Well okay, I’d half expected this to be the case as he only spends occasional weekends here, but there I  was left with just a few short days to find a solution. Because my whole “being on holiday” image included me sitting on the apartment terrace, looking out at the Mediterranean and listening to the waves, with a cold beverage , a good book, and Shadow at hand. And so I went of in search of a dongle …

Today’s Photohunter theme is “entertainment”.

Tomorrow I head out for a week in Málaga and I’m really looking forward to my first week-long holiday in over 25 years. A friend has lent me his beachfront apartment and these are the things I am bringing with me to provide some entertainment. You know, for when I get tired of walking on the beach, dipping my toes in the Mediterranean, wandering around the old centre of town, eating delicious tapas…

The other day Nog finally succumbed after watching me check out my tweets for the umpteenth time and said that he wouldn’t mind having a go. So a few minutes later we had a page set up for him, though he couldn’t get the name he wanted and had to resort to putting an underline in front. He’s still getting the hang of it, but I think quite enjoys the pithyness of the whole thing. Next step will be updating his blog . . .

Picked up Sexy Beast from computer hospital yesterday, all shiny and freshly repaired. The previous day Susan (aka Pipocas) had dropped off an extra printer she had at home and won’t be taking back to the US when she moves next month. The printer on my 3-in-1 machine had been broken for ages but the scanner still works, so now both are set up on the bookshelf unit. Compared to the old “blogging space” things are a bit more cluttered, but also much more functional. A few more shots below…

Remember when I got the coolstand for Sexy Beast? Well, it occurred to me that I would have to get something similar for Shadow before it starts getting too hot here. Then I saw these little technogel feet over at Fnac that only cost 9€ and come in a variety of colours, and so I chose orange to go with the desktop oranges. Since Shadow is a lot more mobile than SB and doesn’t have his own desk these are the perfect solution. They can be easily removed and reattached (for travelling) and provide enough extra air space  so that Shadow shouldn’t overheat when it’s 45º inside casa az … and they’re cute.
