Sometimes the banalities of life just don’t make for solid Twitter status updates. Add a little mystery and confusion with the Twitter Status Generator.

I must admit that I still haven’t really got the hang of my Twitter page yet. But this looks like fun and the above tweet was scarily accurate. A few other generated tweets I liked were:

Well, it’s a beautiful morning here … watched the sun come up about an hour ago, all apricot coloured on the horizon. Nog’s gone to the cafeteria to have brekky and then he’ll head home to shower, snibble the boys and probably make a few sandwiches for today. Although my op is scheduled for 3 o’clock it could really happen anytime after 11, so Nog wants to get back here by then.

The Team should be here soon for a quick visit (mostly to reassure me – they know how nervous I get). Then I’ll shower while my bedsheets are changed and after that just hang out, waiting for THEM to come and get me.

Hope I’ll be back soon. Or even just back (eep!) …

You’re probably getting a bit tired of sending best wishes, etc, so random chat would be just fine.
What are you guys up to today? 🙂

Yesterday Nog turned on his laptop and got the blue screen of death, saying something about a problem with the user32 dll file and recommended that the operating system be restored.  Turns out this problem was caused by his ‘free’ anti-virus, AVG, which had released an update that mistakenly identified the user32 dll file (a key Windows file) as a Trojan Horse virus.

Thing is, we’ve been trying to restore the OS using the CD but – so far – it doesn’t seem to be working. The instructions say the process could take 1-2 hours, after which the laptop will reboot itself. But after about 4 hours it was still going so we decided to exit and reboot manually … and got the blue screen again. So we’re trying it again. Bloody false positives!f_cross.gif

Has anyone else had this problem?

Back in March I started using Safari as my back-up browser. But over the months I’ve been very frustrated at how very very s-l-o-w it is and so the other day I checked out Google Chrome. And I love it! It’s fast fast fast and has lots of coolisimo features. And casa az looks good on it too.

I still prefer Firefox and will continue to use it as my primary browser, but it’s fun having other options and set-ups.

Is there anybody out there still using IE?

I normally just ignore and delete Nigerian and Phishing scam emails I receive, but the one I got the other day was just so bloody stupid that I felt I had to share. I was told I’d won the UK Sweepstakes International Programme – and a million pounds!

Of course they wanted more information from me … and I was supposed to believe that some dude with a Hotmail email addy was in charge of something like this? The mind reels.
