These are “erizos del mar” (literally “HEDGEhogs of the sea”).

Usually during a Flamenco & Tapas Tour I end up taking about a hundred photos and maybe – just maybe! – one turns out. This time I was quite pleased to find three that I liked (click on collage to enlarge). Love my job. 🙂

This week’s Friday Foto Finder challenge is “crane”…
Unlike Spanish storks or flamingos, the crane is a more elusive bird that is usually spotted within city limits. Here we see a male crane (the more brightly coloured of the species) peering above the nests of others, possibly in search of a mate, or perhaps just warming its long frame in the warm midday sun.
