Here is the birthday boy having a post-brekky snooze this morning. He was found starving in a gutter with his two siblings, and now it’s nothing but regular meals, cosy comfort and lots of cuddles. We are both pretty lucky, I reckon.

I first met Ana & Teresa of @FlavoursofSpain a year ago when they were doing food & wine research near Sevilla. They really only had a few hours here before catching their plane home to the UK, but that was time enough to meet up for a nice lunch at La Azotea.
This week they are back – on holiday this time – to celebrate Teresa’s sister’s 30th birthday and I was delighted to be invited along to be a part of the festivities. We did an impromptu two-stop tapeo, going first to La Pepona and then finishing the evening at Eslava. As you can see, we ate very well (and this wasn’t even all of it!) including finishing off with Eslava’s amazing MANCHEGO ICECREAM. Wow. But Sixto had a special treat up his sleeve, and came out a bit later with a lovely creamy cake and candle.
As you can see, a wonderful time was had by all, and I hope I’ve convinced the girls that they need to come down to Sevilla more often.

Well, or thereabouts. You may recall that since Luna is a rescue cat I had to choose a day in June to be her birthday and, since both my birthday and Morcilla/Azar’s is on the 7th of the month, this is it. AKA Luna the Loon (or Loonie Tunes), you wouldn’t know at first glance how totally bonkers she is at times. In fact, most of the time she is quite demure and unassuming. Until she goes bonkers. Which I have to admit is quite fun. Weird to think that if I hadn’t gone out for a walk on that September morning I wouldn’t have seen that poster and my pretty blue-eyed Luna wouldn’t be a part of the family. I think we both did very well with that little twist of fate.

This little monkey is two years old today! And I’m not there to give her a birthday snibble… well, she’ll just have to get double snibbles tomorrow when I get home. Morcilla also shares a birthday with the love of my life Azar.
