Saturday morning errands are one of my favourite things. And in the HEAT of summer (and yes, it is still summer and still HOT here) it is always best to get out early in order to get errands done. Which is what Nog & I attempted to do yesterday but then got waylaid by a neighbourhood scandal. Apparently someone in our very own building has been dropping their garbage from their balcony, and leaving it to lie where it may. Or so I was told. Upon further investigation – calling all tenants downstairs for an emergency meeting – it seemed that nobody was guilty. But by the time we all agreed to agree on this over an hour had passed and it was already HOT.

And so our Saturday errands (shown above) ended up something like this …

  • trip to the Encarnación market for fruit, veg and fish
  • purchase of a new spider plant to replace the one Nog murdered while I was away in Zahara
  • trip to a “euro shop” to replace shower curtains ruined by rusty water gushing out of broken water heater
  • bonus find at “euro shop” of cute baskets to hold stuff on new headboard shelves
  • walk around centre – notice pretty awnings put up to create shade for pedestrians
  • stroll past hippie market
  • trip to El Corte Inglés supermarket – my favourite supermarket in Sevilla
  • much needed COLD beer and breaded sea bass tapa
  • very large sea bass (where our tapa had come from)

Got home around 2.30 and took a cool refreshing shower. And then had the rest of Saturday afternoon and evening to enjoy. Fresh tuna and calamares figured into the enjoyment.

Do you have any special weekend day routines?
