Me in hospital, breaking my fast after ten days with no solid food.
And yes, the hospital food is as bad as it looks.
(taken May 2008 after first cancer operation)
As I recall, it was some sort of overcooked mystery meat in a bland watery sauce with absolutely no flavour, mushy peas and totally tasteless boiled potatoes. Oh, and a dry bread roll. Well, as I’d been on an IV for a week and then liquids I guess they had to start off with bland stuff. No salt. Bleh. Later on the food got better, and they actually made some very nice veggy purées there. But I hope to never have to sample their kitchen again – three times was more than enough.
When expecting #2 I spent seven weeks at the hospital. After giving birth I weighed several kilos less than before pregnancy. After the other hatchlings I was significantly heavier after having the baby than I’d been before conception.
Maybe serving hospital food would be a new concept of dieting 😉
That looks 1000% better than the food at our local hospital. Trust me.

wow 10 days with no food anything must have tasted better than how they must have been feeding you.

As a fellow post-cancer surgery person, I know what you mean. You CRAVE food after a point, and what you get is food like substances.
Great choice for the theme. 🙂

The potatoes and roll look pretty decent. I’m not so sure about the soup.
