Remember when I was thinking about getting an air fryer? Well I did some research about size and brands, etc and then saw that El Corte Inglés was having a special offer on appliances, with most of them 20-25% off (sin IVA) and this one had excellent reviews, was suddenly much cheaper, so what the heck. But the thing is, on the website the white model looked more elegant than the black one, so I opted for that, but when I got it home and set up on my kitchen counter… fucking Storm Trooper, am I right?? I’ve been eye-balling these gizmos for the past year or so and am still not convinced they are worth either the price or the shelf space. And are they a total pain to clean? I mean, I like the idea (a lot!) that you can get nice crispy food without using lots of oil, but it almost seems like they are too good to be true. Also, why are they all so bulky and shiny black and ugly? Quite liked the look of this one in El Corte Inglés today. Anyhow, any advice?

I realise I am late to the party and should have been making banana bread since the first lockdown, but I went stroganoff crazy instead. So sue me. BUT THEN I found myself with a few over ripe bananas (don’t ask) and it seemed like the obvious thing to do. Not having a banana bread recipe, and not wanting to sift through the gazillions of them online, I basically used my lemony poppy seed cake recipe and swapped a few things around. Turned out pretty good, though I should have taken it out of the pan sooner (got a bit mushy on the bottom). What’s your favourite thing to bake? Mine is usually something savoury.
