So the other day I came across a site where you could “hire a local friend” while travelling in various cities, who would show you around and make your experience less touristy, blah blah… and then I thought this would be perfect for Peter. Happily he thought so too, and so for the past couple of days I’ve been working on getting a new blog and social media stuff set up for him. Peter’s been busy writing content (not published yet) and we’ve both been talking about the various ways he could take this new venture. I mean, there are lots of different specialised outings in Seville he could offer, as well as day trips by train or bus. This is very exciting! So go on and follow his blog, twitter and facebook accounts!

Went out early this morning and took these photos. Top pic is a panorama taken on top of the Metropol Parasol (aka the Mushrooms). And the one below is just a normal shot from a slightly lower vantage point (my own rooftop terrace is just out of shot on the left).

This week’s day trip to celebrate my 20th anniversary in Spain was to… Triana!
Which may not seem odd for those of you who don’t know Sevilla, but it was actually a day trip within the city, to one of its many colourful barrios. I had some research to do and so decided to make a day of it with Peter (who is scarily on his way to summer unemployment). Here’s a glimpse of some of the places we went to. More later on the Sevilla blog.
Do you ever go day-tripping in your own city? I think it’s a great idea.
