Had a fabulous day walking out to Pedregalejos with my friend David @irlandenmalaga. He brought along his dog Nina and we walked there and back again (about an hour each way) stopping for tapas at two places in Pedregalejos – Andrés Maricuchi and Pez Tomillo. Lovely lazy afternoon walking by the sea – how great does that sound? It was so warm that I ended up taking off my coat and walking in short sleeves. This is a pic of the port just as we got back to town. Then in the evening I met up again with Arpy @andalucinda and Fred @fredshively for a bit of a tapeo and to share some stories. Not a bad Thursday!

Don’t you just love this? I’d only previously seen photos of the Soho Málaga chameleon and actually walked right past it while on the way to my hotel (dragging suitcase). It’s in my street! Have also been checking out some of the other new graffiti in my new barrio. Very interesting how staying in a hotel just a few minutes walk from the centre feels so different from my other Málaga experiences. Love it.

Spent last night with dear friends Fred & Arpy and today with dear friend Victor. Fuck I’m lucky to know so many fabulous people.  Now off for a solitary tapa at local bar and an early night. Beach walk out to Pedregalejo tomorrow.

Yesterday’s day trip to Cádiz was wonderful! First time we’ve had blue skies, which made a huge difference. We arrived at 11.30 in the morning, went straight for some “elevensies”, then strolled around the old centre and visited the market. After that a bit of tapearing, a drink on the beach, walk along the seaside – and suddenly it was time to go home! Got back around 8pm to three very hungry and pissed off kittehs and then relaxed with a film and a snack. A really nice day!

sevilla blogfriends meet

So, who wants to come to Sevilla?

Some of you may recall that, just before I got sick, I tried organising a blogfriends meet here, which for obvious reasons never got off the ground. But a recent comment by Toybox made me think that it might be a good idea to try this again, especially as there are more and more cheap flights to Sevilla. And, depending on how many people come, I could find a nice inexpensive apartment for everyone to share. It also seems like a nice way of celebrating the mid-way point of my “six month reprieve” and I think it would be a very pleasant weekend getaway.

Sometime late September to mid-October would be a good time as the weather should still be quite  nice and not too hot, but really it would just depend on when people can make it. Remember last August when my friend Manolo offered me the use of his lovely apartment in Málaga? Nog and I spent a fabulous week there and I really fell in love with the city. I’ve been wanting to go back ever since and was especially hoping to make it there during the Christmas season as I hear they really do it up nicely in Málaga  – I’m a total Christmas fool and lover of pretty fairy lights and all such festive sparkliness. But it turns out that Manolo, who lives in Seville, has been using his Málaga apartment a lot more of late and so it isn’t as available for friends as it once was. But then it turned out that there is another option …
