Yikes – it’s another blog!!!
As many of you know, about a year or so ago I started a page here called sevilla tapas which included short write-ups on some of my favourite restaurants and tapa bars that also linked to photos on my Fotki page.
This morning I was adding to and reorganising the Fotki tapitas album and I got to thinking that it might be more interesting to have everything together. So what I’ve done is start a new blog that is set up so that each restaurant and tapa bar has its own category. You can click on the drop-down widget on the right and find all posts relating to a particular place there. Each place will have at least two posts to start with – one with general information and the other will be for photos.
I’ve only got one category finished so far (for Modesto Restaurante) if you want to check it out and let me know what you think. I’m planning to write a longer ‘review’ for each place – the one there for Modesto at the moment was just taken from the page here to use as a temporary example.
The link below will take you to the welcome page. On the sidebar widget look under Restaurant and Tapa Bar Categories for Modesto and check out the posts. Each post has a link to the other.
I’ve got a few more finished… Casa Roman, Casa Robles, Los Coloniales, Las Teresas and Taberna Berrocal.
Well, I’ve got the photos up – it will take a bit longer to do proper ‘reviews’ for them.
I don’t normally like dark themes but I think the photos come out a lot nicer against a dark background and since it’s mostly photos (other than the initial review and maybe a few comments) I’ll probably stick with it.
I think more people are likely to look at the photos there, than going to Fotki and clicking on the thumbnails – this way they just need to scroll down and see the pics full size.
Anyhow, it’s much more work than I bargained on so I’m off to bed now …

Gaaaaa! After having spent hours putting up all the photos I was talking to my sister on IM the other day and told her about my new blog and sent her a link … and she said “boy, I bet that waiter won’t be too happy about having half his face cut off” … and I went “WHAT?”
And sure enough, I discovered that I’d been posting photos that were too big and that many of them had got cut off on the side.
So – gaaaa! – I had to go back and resize all the photos and then upload them all over again.
Anyhow, I think I’ve got most of them looking better … now I have to start working on rewriting the ‘reviews’ as the ones there were taken from here and not really proper reviews.
Good thing I’m on holiday!

I’ve had a change of opinion about using that dark theme – what do you think of the new one I’m using? (you can compare it with the old one by clicking on the sun for the Spanish version).
The main reason for the switch was because with that dark theme, when you click on a name in the drop-down categories menu, you get a page that lists all the posts and you have to click on which one you want to see (so far all restaurants/bars have two posts, one for the review and one for photos). And with almost all other themes you get the posts on one page, already ‘opened up’, which I think is a bit more user friendly as you can just scroll up and down the page rather than having to go back to the list page for a different post.
Anyhow … after finding another theme I liked (but am not crazy about) I decided that the dark one was too dark, but I would appreciate a bit of feedback on ‘the look’ of the place.
Another idea I had was to ask some of the bars for menus that I could take home and scan, which would then appear on a separate post. And I also thought that some places might even want to give me a recipe or two.
