All this plus a beer for Nog and a glass of wine for me cost 7€.

People who know me and who also follow @SevillaTapas on Twitter probably wonder how I can afford to go out for tapas so often … and the truth is I can’t, and also, looks can be deceiving. About half the time I’m invited out by friends, the rest of the time Nog & I go out and share a tapa with a drink each, which usually costs about 5€. Not bad for an evening out or an after-Saturday-morning-errands snack. And this way I also keep the “live photos” thing going on Twitter and Facebook, which I hope drives some traffic over to the Sevilla Tapas blog (and may lead to tour bookings!).
But the best tapas deal by far has to be the recently discovered Jueves Gastronómicos at a tiny bar near my house called Extraverde. Each Thurdsay (jueves) they choose one food item and make three special tapas for 1 euro each. Last night they featured tuna and above you can see tuna tartare served on little toasts, baked tuna with mixed greens and tuna tataky on a bed of marinated roasted peppers. Unbelievable value. I’ve only been to one other JG (featuring avocado) and sadly missed the one with beets(!), but hope to make this a regular Thursday outing. Last night while we were sitting there with the doors of the bar wide open and a gentle fragrance of azahar drifting in from the square I just wanted time to stand still, it all felt so perfect.
Where do you usually go to eat out?
What could you get for 7€ (approx $10)?

A couple of weeks ago I saw this tweet from @nerdseyeview on Twitter (aka Pam Mendel), which said…
trade ya. my seattle photo book (made to try a selfpublishing service) for that thing YOU made. will ship worldwide. whaddaya got?
I was intrigued. Plus I thought it was a very cool idea. So I replied that I made Irish linen comfy clothes (yeah I know – they are Italian linen, whatever) and we decided to swap…

Wow, it seems like just yesterday that I found newly born Azar and his five siblings curled up under a car with their mother, who I’d been looking after (which is how I know his birth date). Who could have guessed that five months later I’d take the little guy home and that fifteen years later he would still be here filling my life with joy. I remember when Sunny first got sick telling someone (Jessica?) that if Sunny died I would devastated. Then I pointed at Azar and said, but that won’t even come close to when this one goes. It’s curious, because it wasn’t about loving one cat more than the other. More about the intensity of the relationship. Difficult to explain.
The pic above was taken shortly after I brought Azar home and the one below was taken yesterday evening. I’m so glad it all worked out with his new buddy, Loki. I just love watching those two together.
Happy Birthday Azar!
Let’s have lots more birthdays together, okay?

… and check out the size of that belly!
Well, it’s been awhile since the last kitteh collage, so I thought I’d show you how Loki is now totally settled in and also growing like a weed. This week I have to take him to the vet’s for his second round of vaccinations. I love that he is super affectionate and makes friends with anybody who comes over – just like Sunny used to. Anyhow, this shows him in repose … maybe one day I’ll make a collage of orange & white streaks and blurs and call it Loki in Action. Because most of the time he is Non-Stop Kitten and manages to be everywhere all the time. He is alos a total lapcat and I think soon will be wanting his own blog…
