In case you’ve never seen an angel before…this is Isabel.
If you haven’t read the story about Isabel’s wonderful generosity and how she totally saved my holiday in Málaga last weekend, you can find it here. Someone asked if I had offered to pay her for taking me to the train station, but I knew she would have never accepted money and so I got her this lovely box of Belgian chocolates while I was away. And it was hard enough getting her to accept those! She kept waving them away and telling me not to be “tonta”. And when I asked if I could take her photo and told her that she was already “famosa” on my blog, she turned to the shop assistant and said, “I just did the tiniest of favours for this girl and she’s making such a big fuss over it!”
The tinest of favours. Yeah right. She only saved my holiday and renewed my faith in human kindness with her very spontaneous act of generosity. No big deal.

Got home from Málaga yesterday evening … I was so excited to see Azar again! As soon as I opened the door he started MEOWING like crazy. Then he ran under the bed and pretended to sulk. But unlike other times he only managed to sulk for about three minutes before coming out and allowing himself to be snibbled. That was when I saw that he had managed to keep himself amused during my absence by dragging clothes out from the storage boxes under the bed and making mincemeat out of a roll of paper towels that had been left on an end table in the livingroom (and not for the first time).
After much snibbling and rolling around on the bed with small black cat I started on the first of several loads of washing that need doing and then … I put up the Christmas tree! Right on schedule.
Today I’m going to work on my Málaga photos and will hopefully have them up on Fotki to show you all a bit later. It was a wonderful long weekend and great to get away, but also so very nice to be home again.
[very cool tea towel was a gift from alejna]

I’m sitting on the train and it’s a miracle. I still can’t believe I’m here.
This is what happened…

Manolo called me last weekend and said it looked like he wasn’t going to be using his Málaga apartment this long weekend after all and so it would be okay for me to stay there instead of in the Marbella apartment. Now this makes a difference! First of all, it’s quite easy and cheap to get to Málaga by train (Marbella would have been two bus rides and I had no idea about the connections) and of course Málaga is where I really wanted to go. Sure I’d still like to go to the new Marks & Spencer in Marbella and get some mince pies, but I can do that Saturday afternoon and then spend the rest of the time in Málaga. The apartment is on that jutty outy bit in the middle of the port (on the map). I’m so excited!
