So remember how I moved house and was told – hey no problem – that my internet and tv service would be transferred in less than two weeks? Yeah right. It took almost four weeks, and even after that the “technico” had to come back a couple of times to sort out the television service.
Meanwhile, I have been on the market to upgrade my lovely iPhone to the latest model… which I almost got to do last Christmas except Movistar fucked that one up, as their “offer” closed before there was any stock available in their stores. And so I was happy to find that in my friendly neighbourhood Vodafone shop they took down my name on a waiting list and called me just a few days later to say they had an iPhone4 for me, all I needed to do was stop by and sign the papers to transfer my custom over to Vodafone.
And now comes the icky part…

I’m going crazy with this.
On the morning of January 25th, the day after signing the contract on my new apartment, I called Movistar to arrange a transfer of service, including landline, internet and television (Imagenio). I know I did this because I have proof – the reference number they gave me (11193S). Since then it’s been a bloody nightmare and I’ve lost not only valuable work time but also HOURS of my life calling and calling these people to get them to keep their word. Which was… that at most the transfer would take two weeks because it included the television service. We are now going on week four and, while they did finally come a week ago today to install the internet, I am still without any television service. And I am furious at the way I’ve been treated.
So I got on Twitter and the people handling the Movistar tweets there have assured me that my order has been prioritised – the order I was told this morning didn’t exist (!!!) – and that my service should be installed today. Well, it’s going on 3.00pm and I still haven’t heard from anybody.
Meanwhile, my ISP has weirdly blocked one website. I cannot access it from either computer at home, either using the router or my iPhone as a modem. But everyone else can access it, and I had no problem when I tried the computers at the gym the other day. So clearly an ISP problem. But after more than half an hour on the phone today talking to this and that technician I was put on hold yet again… and then my call was disconnected!! And nobody has called me back.
I am borderline hysterical thinking about this. The screw up with the transfer of my phone line, internet and tv service is compounded by the shitty way I am being treated every time I call them. And now for two weeks I haven’t been able to access a website that I am supposed to be working on. There is a glimmer of hope that the twitter connection is going to come through, but time is already running out on today…

After almost two weeks without internet at home I finally got reconnected today. What a relief. I really needed that high-speed internet connection. Instead I’ve been using my iPhone as a modem, which has been better than nothing, but there was really no reason I couldn’t have had my connection sooner.
They say it takes two weeks to transfer my “package” which includes the television. Why? And well, if I’d known two weeks before moving that I was going to be moving then of course I’d have set the transfer up sooner. But as you know, we only had about five days between signing the new rental contract and moving. I called Movistar immediately to tell them about the situation, and that as I worked from home it was imperative that I get my connection transferred as quickly as possible. This was on a Tuesday and we were moving on Sunday. They said they would put a rush on the order and it should be there at the beginning of the following week. Nobody came. And then my telephone nightmare began. I called them over and over asking when this “rush job” was going to take place and at one point even had a guy tell me they were coming that day, just to get me off the line. When I called later that afternoon I was told that nobody had said that to me. Aaarrgh. Another time I called I was told that there was no such thing as a “rush order” and that all petitions were done mechanically.
Anyhow, this afternoon the technician showed up – and he was the same guy who set up my system at the old place! And he remembered me, asking about the cats and how they took the move. Such a lovely guy. He got my line and modem set up in no time and then I asked him about setting up the television… and it turns out that they set the line up first and then I have to re-contract the television service. WTF?? So why did I have to wait two weeks because of the f-ing television service??? Well, of course it wasn’t this guy’s fault and he was all sympathy. And so I just got off the phone – yet again! – with bloody Movistar and they said I should have the tv set up on Monday. I then told them I wanted a discount on my next bill and it better not be more than half the usual charge since I missed half a month’s service. We shall see…

So remember a couple of weeks ago when I told you I had a stalker? And then Raincoaster set me straight and informed me that the person who has been following me around and posting comments all over my blog – after telling me they were fed up with me and wanted nothing more to do with me – was in fact a troll and not a stalker? Well, I thought that my post and the following comments would have been enough to let this person know in no uncertain terms that their comments were not welcome (even though I had previously emailed them to let them know this), and for awhile I thought they had taken the not-so-subtle hint.
But it turns out this person is either very thick or is so obsessed in their dislike for me that they just cannot go away and leave me alone. Because their latest trollish trick is to now start replying directly to my comments on other people’s blogs … yes, that’s right. Sometimes the comments are of a gushing and fawning nature, and other times they are direct jabs that are offensive in the extreme. But mostly they are “look at me” comments letting me know that this person is still obsessed with following me.
Make no mistake. These are not just comments made on the same blogs we both frequent. As I said before,we have many mutual blog friends. No, these are direct replies to my own comments on mutual friends’ blogs. How fucked up is that? And yes, I can mostly ignore it, especially the silly gushy stuff intended – one supposes – to make this person look good. But as for the grossly crass comments… I will ask the blog owners to please remove them.
I was recently told by this person that I was holding a grudge. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I don’t even think about this person until they show up – yet again, and again – in a very inappropriate manner. They wanted nothing more to do with me and I complied. No grudge going on there as far as I can see…
And so from me to you – please just piss off already.
You are being pathetically annoying.
