So remember that high-sided litter box I bought last month? Well, it has indeed cut down on the amount of sand tracked all over the house, but then following advice from a few friends I thought I might be able to make the non-tracking situation even better. And voilà… a little mat outside the box. Most of the sand kicked out of the box gets trapped in the open spaces of this cut-out design which means less to travel around the place. And well, I think that’s about as far as I can go unless I put the box inside the coat closet next to the bathroom and leave the door ajar. Hang on… 💡

First off I want to say that of course I support the bars and restaurants here, many of which I love like my own second home and the people who own and run these places are like my family. And there are plenty of others that I respect and enjoy visiting. BUT… I have always felt it was my right to express my personal opinion about any of these places because, well, why not? It’s not like I’m anybody important.

But the ironic thing is that, since Covid, you are suddenly not allowed to say anything critical about any bar or restaurant because they are suffering, under pressure, doing their best, etc, etc. Well, I call bullshit.

I write this even though I know how pathetic it’s going to make me sound. Because at this point, who cares right? Anyhow, when I first moved into the present Casa Azahar I realised I seriously needed more kitchen storage space, so I bought this Ikea pantry thing that sits just outside the kitchen door, and frankly I couldn’t manage without it. When it first got set up (see photo below) it was immediately packed full of everything that wouldn’t fit in the kitchen cupboards… and it’s pretty much stayed that way. Until now!

You may recall that back in January I set myself up with The Schedule, with daily, weekly and monthly Things To Do, just so I would actually do them. And I gotta say… fuck I love The Schedule! It’s like I have reclaimed some semblance of order in my life, and it also requires a certain amount of discipline from me too (none of this “oh I don’t feel like it today” jazz… if it’s in The Schedule it must be done).
