Here is Loki giving zero fucks.

Last night after my tapas tour I was on my way to bed, but first had to give Morcilla her bedtime snack (don’t ask) and then, forgetting the cat vomit on the marble floor (I’d previously heard Loki horking up), slipped and fell FULL FORCE with my right foot twisted underneath me… OUCH. So after a quick shower and change of nightdress I hobbled painfully to bed.

This morning it still hurt, and the bruising had come out. But I am more or less able to walk, which is a good thing because I have a tapas tour this evening and cannot cancel it. Luckily it’s still warm enough for sandals, because I don’t think I’d get those swollen and bruised toes into a pair of shoes. The middle toe and the one next to it really hurt. If it doesn’t feel any better tomorrow I will go and get the foot xrayed, just in case (remembering how after my first sprained ankle, I found out when I sprained it again years later that I had actually fractured it!). And yes, I know the pedicure is looking shabby, but it’s the “end of sandal season” so not worth doing over.

This happens every time. Since I can’t fit my duvet into the washing machine at home I have to take it to either a laundry service or laundrette. This time I did the latter, only to discover that the soap and – ugh – fabric softener is added automatically. The woman assured me it was very subtle, not overly “perfumy”. Apparently she has no idea what the word subtle means. It was awful, even after paying for a second rinse. When I got home I tried airing it out on the rack in the guest room, with the windows open, but it actually stank up the whole apartment (!!!) so I had to move it upstairs.

Okay, I realise that I am both blessed and cursed with a super accute sense of smell. This especially makes me happy when the azahar is in blossom. But it also means that smells other people may not even notice are VERY noticable to me. And so there is no way I could sleep with this, or even have it in my house, in its present smelly state (April fresh flowery freshness?? Who the hell are they trying to kid?). Seriously, when I went up to see if an entire day in the sun and fresh air had helped the situation the smell almost knocked me out as soon as I stepped out onto the terrace. So it looks like it will be up there for several days, or until the rain starts this weekend. Yeah I know… it’s not easy being me. 😉

So after my accidental upgrade a couple of weeks ago, after Sterling had been acting up and I bought El Boquerón on sale as “insurance” (but then ended up keeping him), I was feeling quite chuffed. Because I had been assured that with Boquerón (aka HP ENVY-17-bw0001ns) I was getting the “latest generation” jazz, including not only 1 Tetra of HD memory, but also 128 GB of SSD memory, GUARANTEED to make my system run faster. So like wow, okay, sign me up (even though I had only a small idea of what SSD was).

And when I first got Boquerón up and running, this proved to be the case. Everything was zippity-do-dahing along like crazy, which was great. Though it was a bit faffy setting up and uploading my gazillion photos to the D-drive (HDD) to keep the C-drive (SSD) unencumbered. And I thought I had been doing things right… until I was told yesterday that my SSD had next to no space left and I had to do SOMETHING about it.

And I have tried. But it would help if I knew what I was supposed to be doing. I have all my downloaded programmes and (of course) my gazillion photos stored on the HDD. And even after eliminating superfluous files and programmes from my C-drive, I still only have about 5 GB of free space on my SSD. WTF? HELP?
