[typical Tuesday around midnight]
I am so sick and tired of THIS. Drunk and rowdy teenagers outside the bars that line the street leading to my house, illegally drinking and making shit-loads of noise. It’s bad enough that this is what I have to walk past on my way home at night, but it’s made worse by the fact that one of these shit-bag cheap-liquor bars opened in my building shortly after I moved in. Remember how it even caught on fire? So now the noise and rowdiness and bullshit is all happening just below my bedroom windows. Anyhow, I keep taking these photos and putting them up on Twitter (with cc’s to the mayor and the town council) as well as calling the police (which does nothing) so it looks like I may have to move. Have already lost four very nice neighbours in my building in the past year because of this. Fuck.

Got my hair cut today in the usual fashion, as in I woke up and went NEED HAIR CUT NOW! Last time I did this was during my July holiday in Málaga and went to a place there that was recommended by my friend Annie.
As is usually the case, I leave the hairdresser’s with a lovely sleek chin-length bob which lasts for maybe half an hour or so, depending on heat and humidity.
In Málaga it’s even more humid than here and one morning after my haircut I took this pic to prove once and (for all who wonder why I always slick back my HAIR) that it is not a Good Idea for me to let said HAIR do what it wants. Because it does this…

Last night was my first Flamenco & Tapas Tour since before my summer holidays in July. Usually hardly any of my flamenco photos turn out because the dancers move so darn fast. But I’m actually quite pleased with this one.

A typical Saturday used to be going out late morning to do the weekly grocery store and market shopping, then maybe stopping in for a quick pringá and a beer on the way home for lunch… it’s been ages since I’ve done that. Another thing I used to like doing on Saturdays was RESEARCH. And so, as I knew I’d be seeing a demo by pastry chef Manu Jara at next week’s Andalucía Sabor, I thought I’d finally head over to Triana to check out the new cake and pastry shop he opened there in the spring. I came across it quite by accident one night just after Semana Santa and have been meaning to get back to it ever since.
Well, one thing led to another and I also ended up in Triana market, marvelling at how it had gone all gourmet in the past – what? – three months? So many changes. And so instead of catching up on my massive backlog of reviews and updates for Sevilla Tapas I ended up creating more work for myself by coming home with a huge whack of photos and three new reviews to write. But it was a lovely Saturday morning and afternoon out. And I now have a new “Bakery and Pastry Shop” section for Sevilla Tapas. You can read the review (and see more yummy pics) here: Más Que Postres on Sevilla Tapas
