pilarThat’s Pilar, aka “mi Pili”, and one third of The Team.

Yesterday I had my third PET scan, which had been recommended by my new oncologist last Friday.  Susan (Pip) couldn’t come with me for this one as she has a friend from the US visiting, and so I was very lucky that my friend Carmen was available. Based on the last two PETs, I told her we would probably be out of there in about three hours. Wrong!  We ended up there for six hours, so I definitely owe her one. Though she said she didn’t mind at all as she had nothing planned that afternoon and had brought books and some stuff from work, plus when we were both waiting together we talked, played Hangman on my iPhone,  went for a snack, and had quite a good time…

Doesn’t this look fabulous?

It’s become my favourite brekky. Well, elevensies really, after having had coffee and a couple of digestive biscuits at 7 o’clock, before yoga class.  So around 11 in the morning I have fresh blueberries, sliced banana and natural yoghurt. Not only delicious but also quite a good “anti-cancer” meal.

Slowly but surely I’ve been introducing more of these much touted anti-cancer foods into my diet. Blueberries are one of the easiest additions so far (well, except the paying for them bit).

Boy, was he surprised!  🙂

It was Nog’s birthday yesterday and I thought it would be fun to do something a little different than the usual “birthday lunch”. So the other day I spoke to my friend María Paz who runs Bar Campanario and asked about setting up a birthday party for six (including her). The other guests were Susan, Pablo and Agustín (Dr A), who were instructed to arrive at the restaurant 15 minutes before us, sign the card and be there to shout SURPRISE when Nog & I walked in.
