I’ve been losing it the past couple of weeks.
And the thing is, I’m supposed to be better now. I’m supposed to be happy about being “cured” and that “nothing is wrong with me”. Except the thing that is still wrong with me is that I’ve spent the past ten months being sick, being in pain and being afraid … and I guess that just doesn’t go away overnight. It’s almost like I was able to cope with all the scary stuff better when it was all happening, because I had no choice…

Doesn’t this look fabulous?
It’s become my favourite brekky. Well, elevensies really, after having had coffee and a couple of digestive biscuits at 7 o’clock, before yoga class. So around 11 in the morning I have fresh blueberries, sliced banana and natural yoghurt. Not only delicious but also quite a good “anti-cancer” meal.
Slowly but surely I’ve been introducing more of these much touted anti-cancer foods into my diet. Blueberries are one of the easiest additions so far (well, except the paying for them bit).

This is my sister Susan (aka Pipocas)
There’s the family you’re born into and the family you choose. It started off as kind of a joke, telling the doctors at the private hospital that Susan was my sister so that they would let her visit that first night I was admitted for observation last May. Then we decided to maintain the ruse after I was transferred to Virgen del Rocío hospital for the emergency colon resection. Sometime between then and I’m not sure when, it turned out that we actually were sisters…

… this is really getting to be a drag.
Ever since the ferry ride from hell last Monday I’ve been unwell. Went to bed on Monday night feeling tired (but not excessively so) and didn’t get up again until Wednesday morning. I had a fever on Tuesday but since then I’ve been “normal”. The main complaint is that I’ve had constant “dire rear” all week and, since yesterday, quite bad lower abdominal cramps. I’m assuming this is a reaction to the violence done to my digestive system on Monday and not a symptom of a possible tumour recurrence, but yes, I will be calling Dr A this morning to ask his advice…

And that is going to be our room! Cute, huh?
It all started when Pip and I went on the unplanned road trip last October (for those who weren’t here at the time, here is Part One and Part Two) … the running joke was that, since there was no plan, that we should just hop on a ferry and go to Morocco. And we might have actually done it if we’d had more than one night away, but Pip had to get back. And so we decided that we would definitely have to go to Morocco before I started chemo again, maybe for my birthday. But as you all know now, things have changed since then…
