Yeah I know, me sipping sherry – so what else is new? But yesterday was an extra special “sherry event” for me. I finally got to meet Seana Yee (aka @SherrySips) in person, after having “known” her on Twitter & Instagram for awhile.  Seana lives in Portland and has been on a sherry odyssey for the past couple of weeks, visiting bodegas in Jerez, Sanlúcar de Barrameda and El Puerto de Santa María (sound familiar?).

Yesterday Seana took a day trip to Sevilla to go out on a private Sherry & Tapas Tour with me. What a day! I’ll be writing more about our tapeo, the wines and the bars on the Azahar Sevilla blog, but for now here’s a photo of Seana and Loki (and a glass of manzanilla pasada) taken at casa az during a quick pit stop between tapearing and heading out to a flamenco show. Love when you meet people and it feels like you’ve always known them. Thanks for a great time, Seana – hope to see you again soon! xx

I’ve mentioned Pilar & Pilar here before. Pilar (daughter) has been a dear friend for many years, and I’ve also had the pleasure of getting to know Pilar (mother). Usually over a delicious lunch that inevitably includes sherry, as both of these fabulous ladies are from Jerez. In fact, their family was in the sherry biz years ago. Well, this time was no exception. Fab food, wonderful wines, lots of great conversation (and lots of laughs). We even went up to the top of the Setas, which Pilar (daughter) had never seen before (!!). It was great spending an afternoon off in such splendid company. Gracias chicas! xx
