In most bars this is known as “la carta” (the menu) but here at Casa Moreno Emilio calls it “la lista de auto ayuda” (the self help list). This week I’m doing the rounds – stopping in at my favourite bars that are going to be closed in August for their much deserved summer holidays. It’s nice doing this, just to have a drink with them and say… see you in September! Also, I get kisses. 🙂

So I was out and about with Anya & Barry again, this time to introduce Anya to some owners of bars that she particularly loves. It was great going along for the ride as I got to hear a lot more about the history of the bars and the families. It also made me realise that my relationships with these people are even closer than I had thought, and how much we mutually hold each other in high esteem. This made me happy.

Remember when I found out that my first ever article in Decanter Magazine had been published? Well, I finally got my own copy when Julie brought one for me. I know it sounds silly, but holding the actual magazine in my hands is somehow even more exciting than seeing it posted online. Super thrilled about this.

Yay! My article in Decanter Magazine is out. I first saw it being linked to online, then Dan Jamon took this photo of the actual magazine and put it on his Instagram. Can’t wait to get a copy of my own. Happy. 🙂

Last week my friend and neighbour Esteban’s fabulous bar Vermutería Yo Soy Tu Padre was broken into in the middle of the night. The bastards made off with thousands of euros worth of wines, computers and other equipment. But Esteban and his family rallied and were up and running again in very short order.
So if you live in, or are visiting, Sevilla, stop by to show your support- and also to have some amazing house made vermouths and delicious tapas.
