This is Mila! And I am very happy to welcome her to the We Love Tapas team. We had a great afternoon out today visiting bars, tasting tapas and wine, and talking non stop. I think she’s going to be a fabulous addition to the family.

VICTORY IS MINE! I stopped at a small neighbourhood supermarket l don’t usually frequent looking for spaghetti (l was on my way home and it was convenient) and spotted this lone jar of dijon in the condiments section. And now it’s MINE ALL MINE! ✨✨✨

Twenty-nine years ago today I rolled into town from Salamanca with a carload of everything I owned including two rather cranky cats (Lua and baby Sunny after a very long hot car journey). Sometimes I can’t believe I’m still here, for all kinds of reasons, but I also know there is nowhere else I’d rather be.
Today I celebrated with a fab lunch at Puratasca, recently reopened after summer renos, with Peter and Pablo, who have both been through many Sevilla Life Experiences with me. I also decided it would be a good occasion to open this lovely bottle of happiness that was given to me when I visited Bodegas Juve & Camps last May. All in all it’s been a great day. Cheers!

So this came about with a bit of luck and happenstance (and a lot of work on my part!). Back in April I was contacted by two guys in London who were planning a stag weekend in Sevilla for their friend BUT they assured me they were cultured serious people who loved good food and wine and were hoping I could provide them with a “classy stag evening”. To be honest I had shut down at the word “stag” since I do not do that sort of thing but then they won me over, especially after one of the guys told me “and we like to read!”. There would be ten of them. What could I come up with?
First of all, I don’t do groups of ten. I seldom even reach my limit of six. Usually I take out 2-4 people at a time because that’s how I like it and that’s also how I think my guests will have the best experience. But this wasn’t a food and wine tour… it was a challenge. What could I offer ten cultured and well-read wine lovers? In the end I think what I put together was quite amazing. And it turned out that the guys were all amazing too.
