A couple of weeks ago Ben got in touch via Bluesky to say he and his partner Rebecca would be in town and asked if I wanted to meet up, which we did last Friday. They run Andalucía Bound, a travel site that offers a variety of itineraries and includes an interesting selection of audio tours. Anyhow, it was lovely to meet up for a cold beer and a tapita and a chat. They live in Granada so no doubt we’ll be seeing each other again.

What an absolute delight this is! Someone had mentioned it on Bluesky the other day and I wasn’t sure because it’s not really my favourite genre, but turns out it so smart, funny, suspenseful and clever that it’s completely won me over. And what a cast. On Netflix. Still have a couple of eps to go so no spoilers please!

Whenever I’m asked what my favourite tapas bar is (and I get asked that a LOT) or even my top five, I can never answer. Likewise with my favourite song or movie. You know, it always depends. My mood, the weather… lots of variables to consider. But if anyone ever asks me what my favourite TV series of all time is I do not hesitate… it’s The Wire. It just is. Nothing else even comes close. I have followed its creator and writer David Simon on social media for years, first on Twitter and now on Bluesky, and this past weekend THIS happened. Stay tuned…

The Bluesky Harvest thingy goes through all your posts for the year and shows you, well, these recaps. This one is for my Sevilla Tapas account (the Azahar account I mostly use when I’m feeling cranky or need a rant, and also to post my wordle scores). I have to say the Most Used Words one seems to be mostly based on hashtags, so not really MY words. But whatever, just a bit of fun.

The new photo viewing client for Bluesky is now available in the Apple app store. I was really looking forward to this as I would actually like to drop all my META accounts, like I did with Twitter in January. But so far Flashes just looks like a copy of all images posted to Bluesky (whereas instagram is selective). Also, for now it’s not available on desktop. Anyhow, we’ll see how it goes.
