The other day I mentioned taking an afternoon walk in order to check out an area of town called the Alameda (previously dodgy, now up & coming trendy) because I wanted to include some restaurants there on Sevilla Tapas. I chose about half a dozen that I thought looked quite good, got names and addresses, business cards where they had them, and felt like I’d done a good job of researching the neighbourhood. One of the places on my list was called Jan El Jalily, specialising in middle Eastern food, so I told Susan about it (ever since Morocco we are all about the couscous) and we decided to check it out last Tuesday for lunch. But it was not to be…

Okay, it’s not as impressive as raincoaster’s, but I think it’s pretty cool.

Well, not really. Especially because it was such a gorgeous sunny Sunday and I was feeling just fine after my week-long post ferry ride from hell ordeal. I woke up early and started working on Sevilla Tapas, which I’ve actually been doing all week. Check it out and let me know what you think of the changes. Kim has been very generously helping me out with some geeky stuff I don’t know how to do, which has really made a difference. And today I stuck in a couple affiliate ads, including a way-cool Amazon widget in the sidebar showing books I’ve chosen that relate to Spain, food and travel.
By about noon I was just starting to go cross-eyed when Nog asked if I would like to go out for lunch with him. What with me being away, and then in bed a lot of this past week, we haven’t actually seen each other much lately, so it sounded like a very good idea. Nog suggested Yebra, because we hadn’t been there since zoomer was in town last October, and it’s also a 45-minute walk away, which meant we would have a nice walk there and back…

This is my sister Susan (aka Pipocas)
There’s the family you’re born into and the family you choose. It started off as kind of a joke, telling the doctors at the private hospital that Susan was my sister so that they would let her visit that first night I was admitted for observation last May. Then we decided to maintain the ruse after I was transferred to Virgen del Rocío hospital for the emergency colon resection. Sometime between then and I’m not sure when, it turned out that we actually were sisters…
