So no more fairy lights in the orange trees… well, until next December anyhow. The Three Kings came last night and today (Epiphany / Twelfth Night) marks the end of the holiday season. But it is also BIRTHDAY EVE! And boy am I ever excited. 🙂
Tomorrow there will be cava (of course) and a special lunch has been planned (more on that later), then who knows? Very likely a nice late afternoon walk and perhaps meeting up with friends for a drink in the evening. It’ll be quite low-key and lovely. And I will be 60. Wow!
One of the many many fine things about living in Sevilla … sitting outside on a terrace at the end of December, enjoying a glass of wine and people watching, all toasty warm. And in the daytime it’s still warm enough to sit out in the sunshine.

So I can’t figure out if this is meant to be a global unifying message or if the people who put this together really think Antarctic Emperor penguins live with Arctic Eskimos.
So okay, it was almost a month late (through no real fault of either myself or Pilar) but better late than never. Today we finally managed to get together for lunch and celebrate Pilar’s birthday, which has become a bit of a tradition over the years.
