My pals Ryan & Ang @jetsliketaxis came out on a training tour this week with newest We Love Tapas team member Delia. This was also something different for the Jets as we’ve extended the Traditional Tapas Tour and the new bar we’ve added is fabulous. So happy to have Delia with us. I have the best team ever!

MORE friends visiting this week – travel writer Jeremy Head @jeremyhead, his wife Karen and their little son Joe. Yesterday we had a great afternoon out on an impromptu – and somewhat modified – Triana Tapas Tour. Good times.

On the eve of leaving for the Sherry Educator course I met up with dear friend Victor @WeLoveMalaga who happened to be in town for a few hours, and we ended up at Las Teresas, which gave me an opportunity to practice one of the blind tastings I’m dreading the most. Telling the difference between fino and manzanilla. So I asked the guys at the bar to set me up with a half-serving of each, but not to tell me which was which…
I was a bit confused at first, they kind of smelled the same to me. Then Victor said – “they smell completely different!” – and I realised I was just being nervous. So I took the two glasses again and took another sniff of both… and no question. I knew immediately which one was manzanilla. Ha! Without even tasting them. I sure hope I can do that again on Friday!
I also hope I can tell the difference between a palo cortado and oloroso when the time comes. Off to pack…

Meeting up with Anna @annamayer and Jorge @jorgeguitian (aka @guitianmayer) is always fun, and last night was no exception. We started off with a wine tasting at Gourmet Experience, then headed off for a short tapeo, starting with traditional tapas at 150 year old Bodega San Lorenzo. We finished the evening at the always fab La Azotea, where Anna came up with my brilliant new nickname: SHAWN OF THE BREAD. Come back soon guys!
