Remember the good old days (last March) when we thought this would all be over by the summer? Well yesterday I checked back in with my GP to ask if there was any update about the Covid vaccinations in Sevilla. As in WHEN THE FUCK WERE WE GOING TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WHEN WE’D BE GETTING THEM. And he said, nope. Nobody knows nuthin. Not even him. There is no programme in place for letting the public know when they will be able to get vaccinated.
This is so disheartening. Especially when it seems like our government, while totally fucking up vaccine distribution, is probably going to be promoting tourism – and more contagion – this summer. Because you know the whole Let’s Save Christmas thing went so well, with a (predictable) massive spike in new cases and deaths mid-January. Why not Save Summer and kill more disposable people too? Honestly, I despair.
It truly looks at this point that there will be nothing even closely resembling “our old lives” until next spring. Because, a bit like painting the Forth Bridge, once everyone is vaccinated, they are going to have to start all over again with the next round (which will hopefully run more smoothly).
Meanwhile? Well, do you have any plans? Other than NOT going on holiday?

Over the years I have come to realise that, as much as I love good food, I can only take so much of it. First of all it’s a physical thing. I mean, aside from when I eat the wrong food (for me), I honestly cannot eat very much at one sitting, which I think is due to the post-op adhesions. I’ve never really been a big eater, but now I can fill up after just a few bites (yes I know, I am massively FAT, and much of that is to do post-chemo and other health issues, but I’m not here to talk about that today).
And so! It’s become important for me to get in as much flavour and variety within those few bites. Which is why tapas are so perfect for me. You can order as many (or few) of these small dishes as you want, and it’s even better when I can share the tapas. In fact, I almost never eat a whole tapa on my own. And this, aside from the physical factor, leads to my belief that I have developed a kind of “food ADD” over the years. By which I mean that I can only concentrate on one dish for maybe one or two bites before I want to move on to something else. It’s always like “okay, that was great, what’s next?”.

For almost 30 years I’ve been finding cat sand tracked everywhere in my house. And I mean EVERYWHERE, including in my bed (gross). Plus it gets stuck to the bottom of my socks and, in spite of how many times I sweep up (I’m getting better at that!) it’s still all over the place. And so I splashed out (15€) on this new high-sided litter box with only one main in-and-out option. Honestly this thing is massive compared to the old one, which I admit may have been part of the problem. Anyhow, it becomes operational tomorrow. Today I’ve just put it (empty) in the bathroom so the cats could get used to it being there. Fingers crossed!
