When I was 17 I was given this album as a Christmas present by my boyfriend’s father. He was always trying to broaden my horizons re: art, dance, music, literature. Anyhow, this song is the intro from a live recording of the Pointer Sisters at the Grand Ole Opry (the first black female group to perform there) and it’s wonderful. Enjoy!

Yes, World Cocktail Day is actually a thing, and it’s also today. I just found out this morning and, as luck would have it, I had plans to meet Peter for lunch at a “new” taquería (well, new to me) and well… it would’ve been rude not to. I had a margarita and Peter a paloma, which is like a margarita but made with grapefruit juice. Both were lovely. Did you partake today? I’m going to have to put this in my calendar. 🍸🍹🥃
