gourmet market
All in all, not a bad way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon in Sevilla. After sampling a few tasty items I also did a bit of shopping and took home some lovely spicy manzanilla olive oil and – gasp! – tuna belly in manteca. On Sunday I’m heading out to the Cádiz mountains for a monster cheese festival. What are you guys up to this weekend?

I went here today! Because of Twitter and Instagram and other social media stuff I do. Bit of a long story, which I’ll tell in more detail when I have a bit more time over at Azahar in Sevilla. Stay tuned…

lettuce
I was at the supermarket today looking for baby spinach leaves and came across this display of packaged salads. Antiox, Cardio, Inmuno… how can they get away with this blatantly false labelling? It’s just lettuce FFS.

What’s the weirdest advertising you’ve seen lately?

cauliflower rice (1)
Who hasn’t heard of the 5:2 diet yet? For those who haven’t, it’s the latest fad diet that has now reached cult status, and is definitely making big money for some people. I personally think it’s mostly a whole new neurotic way of “dealing with” (actually obsessing about) food, but hey, whatever. It has also made me aware of something called cauliflower rice. Which is a nice thing! Check it out on my kitchen blog.
