View from my bedroom in the morning… LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER EATEN EVER.

It was a normal day. I was working on this and that, spent most of the day at home thinking I would go out in the evening for a walk. Made a healthy “fridge forage” lunch that had plenty of fresh veg, some chicken and noodles. Then I relaxed a bit late afternoon, and then… OMG.
Suddenly I was hit by serious sharp abdominal pain, though not the same as what I experienced last week. This was way more intense. Thinking I could maybe “walk it off” I headed out to buy some ink for my printer, at the new shopping mall over the river. Halfway across the bridge I thought – uh oh, this isn’t normal – but then the violent cramps subsided and so I kept on. Bought my stuff, headed home, almost vomited in a public bin on the side of the street, but somehow made it back. And then it got much worse.
I crawled into bed, scared and in PAIN… it was so bad that I was actually crying out. Like all my insides were tied up in knots, like I was being turned inside out. I was so afraid I would end up back in emergency. Finally I fell asleep and when I woke up again in the middle of the night I drank some water (kept it down) and things seemed okay from then on in. But you know… WTF?

Well okay, I cannot actually claim to have writer’s block because that would be making the clearly erroneous assumption that I’M A WRITER… but it’s been tough going this past week, working on the Galicia article. If you need me I’ll be drinking albariño at my desk, hoping for de-vine inspiration (also not a comedian).

This has become a regular early morning drama. Here you can see Morcilla staring down Loki after having just chased him off the bed. I think she is getting her own back because the big orange brute does terrorise the girls sometimes. So she has taken to disrupting Loki’s post breakfast snooze by getting up on the bed and making some noise (her little growls are adorable!) until she has his attention and then whacking him on the head until he is relagated to the floor. Sometimes he will wait a bit and come back up, and then the drama repeats itself. Of course this only happens when I am still in bed and my brave little girl knows I have her back. 🙂

This showed up on one of my feeds… one of those “X years ago today” things… and OMG. Look how little and sweet! She still hadn’t grown into her paws. This was the time I went to Málaga in July 2013 when Morcilla was still a baby, just over three months old, so I took her with me. I remember back then I thought she would become my regular travelling companion, but it turned out it wasn’t that easy to find accommodation that would accept cats. Oh well.
