Yay! I got my copy of the March issue of Decanter today. I’d seen the online version of My Top Ten online a couple of weeks ago, but it never quite feels real until I’m actually holding the mag in my hot little hands. It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since I met these guys. This week Jeanine and Juan, the husband and wife team behind La Azotea, are celebrating ten years since they opened their first bar/restaurant in calle Jesús del Gran Poder. Since then they have opened three more, as well as having two children, and they also run a successful catering business. Well done, you two, and happy 10th anniversary!

Back in November 2010 I was invited by my friend Annie Bennett @anniebennett to join her for dinner at Gastromium. And it turned out to be one of the best meals of my life. Not only because the food was gorgeous, but the service was impeccable, with a lovely Scottish man called Duncan as our maître for the evening. It was such a memorable experience that I have kept the Gastromium post up on Sevilla Tapas, even after they sadly closed their doors and the three chefs moved on to other projects.
So imagine my surprise when I stopped for lunch at Tradevo Centro and one of the waiters said to me in perfect Spanish… hey, you have a website about tapas, don’t you? I told him my website was called Sevilla Tapas and has been going since 2007, and then he said he remembered me having dinner at Gastromium with a friend of mine. IT WAS DUNCAN. And well, we ended up having a nice chat and I thanked him again for having made that evening at Gastromium so memorable. Love when stuff like this happens.

T is the new dining concept recently created and opened by ConTenedor. Inside a very discreet entrance is a light spacious room with a round wooden table that seats 16 people. the chef cooks everything in front of them.
I was invited to try the 5 course tasting menu (55€). Wine can either be ordered separately or as a pairing option (18€ for 5 selected wines). I would recommend the pairing, as we were very pleasantly surprised by Ricardo’s choices.

Back to the splendid Portuguese Pavilion for this year’s Premios Gurmé. Nice to see some of my friends nominated and awarded, and later to hang out with them at the after party. But next time I won’t wear heels!
