Some pics from the final night of the lights. ✨✨✨

It’s officially winter and we are being blessed with RAIN which apparently will continue until the end of next week (Dec 30th). Luckily I clued in on this over the weekend and got tons of laundry done (both this week’s sheets and next week’s too) and so I am ready to mostly stay home and do cosy home stuff. Given that Omicron has just put Spain back into the HIGH RISK covid category, this is also a good thing. Hopefully the rain will keep people at home (but remember to support your favourite restaurants by ordering in!). Once again trying to “save Christmas” has put us all at risk. I don’t know about you but I can have Christmas anytime anywhere. But I do hope that you enjoy yours and also stay safe. xx

AT LAST! As of today people have to show proof of vaccination to enter any tapas bars or restaurants in Andalucía. This includes whether they are sitting inside or on outdoor terraces. And I am very happy about this. I know that being vaccinated doesn’t mean you can’t be carrying the virus, it’s not foolproof, but it does narrow the field and anything that helps… well, it helps.
I have my updated vaccine passport on my phone, showing the latest booster. So I am good to go. But to be honest, I think I will mostly be laying low over the next couple of weeks.

Sanlúcar de Barrameda will officially become the Gastronomic Capital of Spain in 2022. The city of Manzanilla was awarded this title by the Hospitality Industry Federation of Spain and the Federation of Writers and Tourism Journalists, which will also commemorate the V Centenary of the First Around the World Voyage of Magallanes and Elcano. I’m quite excited about this and hope to spend a good part of next year enjoying the Cádiz coast. Stay tuned…
