It’s been raining all week!
Been drying laundry on the clothesrack indoors, finally had to get out the duvet (not the big winter one yet, but still…). If this keeps up I’m going to have to start wearing shoes – and it’s not even November! I am soooo not ready for winter. 😦

I actually remember this Twiggy ad!
Love the “high tech” ones for the picture phone and especially the “angry young computer”. Felt very Mad Men going through these (the drawing in the Dobbs ad looks exactly like Don Draper) though I was very surprised to see Dave Brubeck flogging Kenmore dryers. And what was up with all those gay black dudes drinking Bud? Seems very risqué for its time.

After going a whole week with the scar area above my belly button being very sore and red, I decided it was time to get it checked out. Especially as a sizable lump had appeared over the weekend. So yesterday Flor picked me up around 6pm and took me to the hospital. At first we went up to the “digestivo” ward to try and find one of my surgeons, but none of them were on duty at that time. What memories that brought back, seeing all the rooms again and the people in their beds (shudder!). After that we went over to Emergency and got on the list, then went to Nuclear Medicine to see if any of The Team were there. Imagine my relief when I saw that both Pilar and Isabel were still at work…

I’m finally getting the hang of it!
At least one day a week…
My sleeping has been so f*cked up lately that I’m worried about my ability to heal and get better because of it. No matter what, I end up lying awake in the wee hours and, even if I lie down for awhile in the afternoon, I often don’t fall asleep for my siesta. BUT … lately I have been learning the art of the morning lie in, which I think helps me a lot. During the week I have to get up early (about 6.45) to get to my yoga & pilates classes, and on Saturdays there are always morning errands and shopping to do. But Sundays are perfect lie in days, especially now that I have got over the feeling that I am “wasting the morning” by staying in bed. Besides, then I have less Sunday to have to get through…
Of course, I might get to sleep more easily without the pillow hog.
