When I woke up this morning I had no idea that by the end of the day I would be making plans to go to London in May! I got an invitation to attend a special event in honour of my friend José Pizarro @jose_pizarro on May 14th at the Spanish Embassy in Belgravia, and it was just too good an offer to turn down. And as luck would have it my friend Nicola @shedlikesfood said I could stay at her place as she will be away that month, so hey! I tacked on a few extra days and will now have a week in London!

Saw this the other day and it reminded me of my very dear friend Ann who is undergoing chemo for the second time after a recurrance. Thought I’d put it up here as a little Monday Motivation for all of us facing difficult times. Never forget – we are the fucking storm. 🙂
Calçots are basically a type of green onion that are milder than regular onions, with a length of between 15 and 25 cm (white part). The Calçotada is an annual event in Catalonia celebrating the harvest of Calçots. They are grilled over a hot fire, wrapped up in newspaper to steam a bit, served on terra cotta tiles and eaten, after peeling with bare hands, by dipping them one by one in romesco sauce, accompanied by red wine and bread.
