My very dear friend Lizzie in Bristol – who has been running the very popular Folk House Café for many years and is now in the process of revamping family run Quartier Vert – recently sent me a list of ideas to research in order to turn a couple of my personal projects into money-making ventures. She thinks that both the Sevilla Tapas blog and azahar natural clothing have potential and so I now have a list of instructions to help me get started … except it turned out I have become so bad at thinking in even a remotely straight line that I also needed to enlist the help of another clear thinker and straight shooter, none other than my “hermana de alma” and international woman of mystery, Pipocas. We got together on Saturday afternoon for a lunch and brainstorming session here at casa az and here is how it went …

Today’s Photohunter theme is “hat”.

I hope this isn’t considered as cheating but I asked my friend, the lovely & talented Anneke (aka mudhooks), to place this crown (aka very fancy hat) upon the cute little head of Azar (aka my wordpress avatar).

There is a bit of a story behind this photo, which relates to the weekly BBC News Quiz hosted by blog buddy Archie every Friday. The lowest scoring person of the week is given the dreaded Dunce Cap to wear, and anyone getting a perfect 7/7 score is awarded The Crown. After having worn the dunce cap more times now than I care to remember, I was totally gobsmacked when I pulled off a perfect score in the January 9th quiz. And so this week I get The Crown, which as you can see  here is a traditional Spanish one and not the poncy St Edward British bling being offered over at the Archives.  😉

The other day I saw that there was a chick flick on at the cinema – in English! – and asked Pipocas if she wanted to see it. So we made plans to go on Saturday (last night).  Then it occurred to me that not only was I going out to the cinema (something I don’t think I’ve done since before my first operation last May) but I was also going out on a Saturday night and that it was going to be a girls’ night out…

Birthdays at casa az traditionally start off with breakfast in bed consisting of lovely hot coffee and these fabulous arabic pastries. And so when I finally re-awoke around 9.30 yesterday morning, Nog brought in the birthday brekkie.  It turned out to be a good thing that I hadn’t gone to yoga because I found out today that the first yoga class after the holidays will be tomorrow … imagine how awful it would have been if I had dragged myself out of my warm bed and walked over to the gym in the dark only to find nobody there!  So that was a lucky start to what turned out to be rather a serendipitous birthday …
