sevilla, spain, tapas bars

This ALWAYS grosses me out. Bread baskets re-stacked and reused after being on dirty tables, bar stools, even the floor… never cleaned, the serviettes lining them rarely changed. And in the worst case scenarios, unused bread gets “recycled”. Does this happen in other countries?

A Conversation with Obama. Thoughtful, intelligent, inspiring… l could go on and on. It was such an honour and pleasure to spend an hour listening to this living legend.

It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since I met these guys. This week Jeanine and Juan, the husband and wife team behind La Azotea, are celebrating ten years since they opened their first bar/restaurant in calle Jesús del Gran Poder. Since then they have opened three more, as well as having two children, and they also run a successful catering business. Well done, you two, and happy 10th anniversary!

So there I was watching Queer Eye and suddenly up popped the mini-Giralda in Kansas City. I’ve heard tell of it but had never seen it before. I used to think it was odd that there was an Avenida Kansas City out by the train station, until I was told it is a sister city with Sevilla and that they even have their own Giralda tower. Cool.
