I met Ann Larson a couple of years ago and we hit it off. But you know, she lives in fucking Yunquera, beyond Ronda, so never knew if we would manage to get together again. Then Ann got cancer. And it turned out she liked talking to me about all that shit, because (you know!) I don’t talk shit about that shit. So we became good friends, but only saw each other again today in Málaga. This is us after 4 glasses of Botani – really the only time I can be convinced to do a selfie. Check out Anne’s fabulous line of natural beauty and skin care products that she makes herself, called Lujos. You know you want some.

jm and reyes

Believe it or not, these are two friends that I didn’t meet on Twitter! Juan Manuel and Reyes are the heart and soul of the Vineria San Telmo, one of my favourite tapas bars in Sevilla. And well, that’s how I first met Juan, by being a regular customer. Later when I started my Sevilla Tapas Tours the Vineria became one of the stops (depending on the tour) and we began working together too. Then Reyes, who for years had been responsible for the amazing Vineria desserts, opened her own storefront bakery Gollerías, now my “go to” place if I ever need a cake for a special event. Anyhow, ran into them both at the Vineria the other day and took this photo. Seriously two of the nicest people you could ever meet and I’m very lucky to be able to call them my friends.  🙂

Twitter does it again! Or rather, a Twitter-Instagram alliance in this case (we have a lot of virtual friends in common). As a result, I ended up meeting Carl for a quick fino, which then turned into an impromptu 7-hour Tapeo Extremo. It was a great afternoon (and evening) and Carl has even offered to be the first victim guest on this week’s preview of the new We Love Tapas Craft Beer & Tapas Tour. Stay tuned!

Meet Mr & Mrs O (aka Ana and Simon O’Reilly). I’ve been Twitter pals with Ana @MrsOAroundTheWorld for ages and have enviously watched her post gorgeous travel pics on Twitter and Instagram. And finally, after twenty years, she returned to Sevilla for a weekend getaway to celebrate Simon’s birthday. They flew in with two friends on Friday evening and I was there to meet them at their hotel and whisk them off for a seriously fun (and delicious) tapeo. What can I say? I even ended up drinking gin cocktails! And rolled home some time after 2 am…

So once again the ol’ Twitter magic has brought more new and interesting people into my life. LOVE Twitter.

trigger points

The jury (well, my doctor) is still out on the No Cycling Situation especially after my spectacularly stupid fall up the stairs, further damaging my knee. It’s been a month since I’ve been to the gym now, and I really miss it! I am considering getting a private trainer for awhile at least, because if I show up for regular pilates or yoga classes with a list of things I can’t do I’ll be like a gluten & lactose intolerant vegan asking for a food tour. And yeah, I know there are probably other things I can do at the gym on my own, but I’d like to get a good routine going that takes into account stuff like my knee, lower back and hernia issues.

Meanwhile I received this fab book from my dear friend Sledpress and, in spite of me not doing the treatments as often as I should, the knee has noticeably improved. I’m still not dancing up and down the stairs, but at least now I don’t have to take them one step at a time. So… progress! Thanks again, Sled.
