Yesterday I went out on an “azahar hunt” because I’d been seeing so many buds on the orange trees and reckoned they must be blossoming somewhere by now. Nothing! Then today during a hectic afternoon of various appointments, I took a turn down a street I’d never been on before and there it was! I smelled it before I saw it… happy happy happy.

Last night I was invited to a special event at the gorgeous Parador Hotel in Carmona, just a half-hour’s drive from Sevilla. There was a presentation about new products and promotions for 2014 followed by cocktails and snacks. Then there was a draw for a night’s stay in any Parador Hotel in Spain. AND I WON!!! But now … which one to choose? A happy dilemma indeed.

Yep, the things I do for my public. This was not just lunch but a tapas tour around Andalucía. Andalucía is one of Spain’s 17 autonomous regions, comprising eight provinces. As a very clever way of celebrating Andalucía day (this Friday) Juanlu at La Pepona came up with the idea of offering one traditional tapa from each Andalusian province. And here they are!

Huevos a la flamenca (Seville) | Habas con chocos (Huelva)
I was aided in this endevour (which I could never have managed on my own!) by Peter @SVQconcierge and Markus @veoapartment. We fearlessy tasted each provincial delight for you, including crunchy pig’s ear and BRAINS. Thanks guys!
