Yay! My article in Decanter Magazine is out. I first saw it being linked to online, then Dan Jamon took this photo of the actual magazine and put it on his Instagram. Can’t wait to get a copy of my own. Happy. 🙂

Two years ago I went to the opening party at Lama La Uva and have been friends with owner Ana Linares ever since. We also work together as her fabulous wine shop is one of the stops on my Market & Tapas Tour. So I was very excited to hear that Ana is going to be opening a second location in December, which will also include a small tapas bar. Stay tuned…

Last week my friend and neighbour Esteban’s fabulous bar Vermutería Yo Soy Tu Padre was broken into in the middle of the night. The bastards made off with thousands of euros worth of wines, computers and other equipment. But Esteban and his family rallied and were up and running again in very short order.
So if you live in, or are visiting, Sevilla, stop by to show your support- and also to have some amazing house made vermouths and delicious tapas.

A few years ago I briefly met Andy Hayler @wyahaw at a Foodie Hub event in London. I had already been following him on Twitter because he is a very interesting guy, having eaten at EVERY 3 Michelin star restaurant in the world (as of 2016). The next challenge is to complete that same feat this year. Hence his visit to Andalucía to dine at Ángel León’s Aponiente in El Puerto de Santa María.
Happily he and his wife Stella decided to also spend a few days in Sevilla and we got to meet up a couple of times. First for a spontaneous “tapas tour” and then for a lovely lunch at Cañabota. Both times we ate and drank very well, and it was just so fun spending time with kindred spirits. Hope to see them again, perhaps in London.
