Had a great time yesterday. Went out to the bodega late morning and I got a bit of work done there while Victoria took care of some business. Then we went through photos together, made a video, talked about her upcoming work & travel schedule and, after a quick lunch at a small bar around the corner, came back to the bodega to work a bit more. Later on two wine distributors showed up for their tour of the vineyards, so off we went. Got back to the bodega a couple of hours later, hung out some more doing this and that until Victoria drove me back into town. Finally got home around 10.30, tired but very pleased with all we got done. After a nice shower I put on comfy clothes, made a snack, and sat on the sofa watching a DVD (and my favourite port view). It felt good.

This is a view of the vineyards (Granada is just behind that big moutain on the right). There’ll be more pics and info about the harvest and wine pressing later on… I’ve got so much new material to work with that it’ll take awhile to sort it all out. And I’ll have another meeting with Victoria in town one morning this week to review a few things. Did I say how much I love this job?

Back on holiday today.  🙂

So this is what I did last night…

… needless to say I missed my 8.30 yoga class this morning.

what kind of wine are you?

You Are Pinot Noir

Sophisticated and worldly, you probably know more about wine than most drinkers.

You have great taste, and you approach all aspects of life with a gourmet attitude.

You believe that the little things in life should be cherished and enjoyed… and of the best quality possible.

And while you may take more time to eat a meal or tour a city, it’s always time well spent.

Deep down you are: A seductive charmer

Your partying style: Refined. And you would never call it “partying”

Your company is enjoyed best with: Stinky expensive cheese

What Kind of Wine Are You?

Last time I did this one (September 2007) I was Sauvignon Blanc.
This is more me now but … stinky cheese?

tapas tours

My latest biz idea (and one that I’ve been kicking around for quite a while now) is to give tapas tours. Relaxed and informal, taking small groups of 2-6 people out “tapearing”, much like I did with Alejna and her mother in September. A typical tour would  be about 3 hours long and would include going to three different tapas bars and sampling a couple of tapas at each place. I’ve already announced this on the usual places (azahar sevilla, twitter & facebook) but I was wondering if I could get some feedback from you guys on this question.

Would you prefer an “all inclusive” price and have tapas & drinks chosen for you at each place, or would you prefer to pay a set fee for the tour guide (me!) and then pay for any food & drink you choose yourself on top of that? I’m actually thinking of offering both options, but would like to get an idea of what might be more popular.

You can read Alejna’s excellent post about her tour with me here:
