What the heck. It’s still January! So Mar and I went out to celebrate my on-going birthday, this time at El Cuelgue, a new spot that just opened up a couple of months ago. We were the first to arrive and the last to leave (even chef Santi left before we did!) and had a fun and delicious time.

This week I met up with Nell and Elena – my fab We Love Tapas team – for a Sherry Class at Casa Morales. They were interested in learning more about sherry and I was more than happy to oblige. So we spent a delicious couple of hours tasting five sherries perfectly paired with tapas and it was such a pleasure to have two such enthusiastic students. Team 2023 is turning out to be the best one yet.

A fabulous day out with my fabulous We Love Tapas team Nell and Elena. I was showing them the route for our Tasting Triana Tour and so of course they also had to taste EVERYTHING (seen hear sampling the fried quail at Casa Ruperto). Next week it’s Sherry Class!

Lucy’s (@sparkybakewell) birthday is the day after mine and we like to get together to celebrate that because, why the hell not? Well today was the day so we met up at Triana market with no plan in mind, but Lucy kept saying “I just want some really nice fizz”… so while we were walking to our first possible destination we passed by El Mercader de Triana and I said “Victor has gotta have some fizz in there” and in we went. And sure enough he did. The idea was just to have a glass there and move on, but in the end one thing led to another we had our whole lunch there. And it was fabulous. I LOVE Birthday Week. Thanks Lucy!
