Another addition to my recent encounters that have been brought about by Twitter… this time I had the pleasure of meeting travel writer @LouiseRoddon who is in town this weekend doing research for an article. She had got in touch with me via Twitter to ask if I’d be available for “maybe a two-stop” tapas tour. Ha. I picked Louise up promptly at 8 o’clock and four bars and more than six hours later we finally made our way back to our respective homes down the freshly rain-washed streets of Sevilla. Of course this was all Louise’s fault for being so charming and witty and fun to be with. Well, makes a change from blaming Annie Bennett…

As you no doubt recall last Thursday and Friday was spent with food writer Kalyan (@FinelyChopped) and his lovely wife Kainaz from Mumbai. They were in town for a few days and we did a Sevilla Tapas Tour one night and Flamenco & Tapas the next.
Then on Saturday I got in touch with new neighbours and professional travellers Ang & Ryan (@JetsLikeTaxis) from Chicago who are in Sevilla for a couple of months, and who had taken a walking tour with Peter last week. I was planning on checking out a new tapas bar and asked if they’d like to join me, which they happily did. And it was great getting their input as well as just enjoying a nice lunch out with new friends.
Today I met up with world travelling podcasters Linda & Craig Martin (@indietravel) from New Zealand, who have been in Spain since last spring and happened to be in Sevilla for the day with their friend Alba from La Coruña. So we went out for an impromptu lunchtime tapeo which, as usual, got a bit carried away. You can see a bit of what we got up to in that collage. Our extended lunch also meant they missed going to the two main sites they had planned on visiting (which closed at 5 o’clock). Oops!
The thing is, none of these encounters would have happened without Twitter. Amazing, innit?

It’s been awhile since I’ve made any major changes to the Sevilla Tapas blog, but I thought it would be a good idea to have a bit more continuity between the various azahar-sevilla.com sites.
It wasn’t as easy as I thought and I had to get down and dirty with the CSS and PHP. Thanks to a combination of twitter and google I got some answers to my issues and now have all the blogs and main website mostly running the way I want. I’ll still be tweaking things a bit, but at least it’s all working properly. Just not sure if I should have the background green like on the Sevilla blog, or white like on the main page. What do you think?

I was absolutely thrilled and honoured when Mr David Whitley – AKA Grumpy Traveller – asked to interview me – AKA Sevilla Tapas – for the new Expert Tips section on his website.
I have followed David on Twitter for ages now, and love his no-nonsense and very honest approach to travel writing. If more people had the same low bullshit threshhold as David the world would be, well, a much less bullshitty and interesting place.
So check out David’s site if you are looking for the real deal when it comes to travel writing. And also check out my interview!
