So THIS came today! Very excited. And so yet another Jerez Getaway looms (though there will actually be one more before this for the Jerez Feria at the beginning of May). This will be the first time attending Vinoble as an official Sherry Educator. Did I mention I am excited???

Notice token flamenco image in centre of collage ;). But flamenco really was the reason I ended up in Jerez this weekend, with my friend Jo. It turned out Jo was coming down from London for the weekend to take a couple of flamenco dance classes with renowned dancer and choreographer Joaquín Grilo. And as I also had plans to see Sara Baras we decided to make a weekend of it. Every year Jerez hosts this 10-day Festival de Jerez but this is the first time I’ve been. It’s great fun, lots of events going on around the city, which made Jo and I think that maybe next year we’ll come for a whole week.

It was a great week with Tomoko visiting from Jerez. We got to hang out a lot, talk a lot, and I also introduced her to some Sevilla friends. Best times were hanging out with other chicas (Aldara from We Love Tapas and Eva from I Show U Sevilla), which naturally turned into impromptu brainstorming sessions.
Tomoko is busy starting up her own food & wine tour biz in Jerez, Tomoko Tours, specialising in promoting sherry experiences to Japanese visitors. Together we are working on setting up a network to support and promote each others tours, which will also extend to northern Spain and Portugal. Go us!
