Saw this old gal on my way home after lunchtime tapitas on Christmas Eve and at first I thought “ooh poor thing” until I saw she belonged to the shop owner and seemed quite content to be sitting out in the sunshine waiting to go home. ❤️

At first I posted this tongue-in-cheek New Yorker article on Twitter the other day for a laugh. But then I got to thinking that – hey – this might actually be the way forward. No more being blindsided, disappointed or backstabbed out of the blue by someone you thought was a friend that actually liked or cared about you. Just have everything up front from day one!
Plans can be bundled and of course they can be changed at any time. Cancellations accepted with polite notice (explanations not required). Failure to do so just proves you weren’t worth it from the beginning.
So here are my Friendship with Shawn Plans…
Acquaintance Basic
Just the basics. Casual friendly chat and banter. No fuss no muss.
Tapas Research Assistant
Self-explanatory.
Casual Plus
Acquaintance with benefits (no not THOSE benefits). The most popular package which includes a bit of light friendship as required.
Friend
The previous three tiers (and then some) bundled into a fun and friendly package of shared chat and experiences, caring and support. Just remember that it goes both ways.
Premium Content
Trust me, you probably can’t afford this one. 😉

After getting booted out of the “cancer club” last week I still had one more hurdle, which was a backup ultrasound after last spring’s mammogram. Which was this afternoon. And the very good news is that I am ALL CLEAR. Phew! So there was a glass of bubbly on the way home and now… well, I just hope that I will be hospital-free at least for a while. There will be the usual GP maintenance check up in a couple of months with a blood test, review of my blood pressure status and – maybe! – some info about my FUCKING KNEES. It’s a bit alarming how they went from being a bit painful to needing a stick in just 3-4 months. But that’s for another day. Today I feel so relieved about this good news that I may even sleep tonight!

Passed this house on my way home and noticed someone had got creative with the oranges growing in their courtyard. For some reason I can’t upload vids here anymore so if you’d like to get a better look at it then click here… ORANGES GALORE. 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊

My first visit to the Avolution Lab was back in September, a part of my first official event with the Academia Sevillana de Gastronomía y Turismo. This time it was a visit for the Gastro Guías new members and it was a hit! I enjoyed it just as much the second time and our members loved it. We are trying to come up with a different gastronomy-wine related activity each month for them and this was an easy option before Christmas as it was in Sevilla and easy to get to. As many of the activities will involve visiting producers most of our future ones will take place outside the city. Between the Academia and the Gastro Guías it looks like 2024 is going to be a busy year!
