milliThe Twitter magic continues… with a surprise visit by Milli @milliskitchen and her family who run the gorgeous @rancherdelingles near Málaga city. I’ve known Milli and mum Miyuki (on Twitter and Instagram) for awhile now, and got to meet Milli in person when I was in London last June. So it was an extra special treat to meet the whole family, including dad David and brother Cameron. We were just going to meet up for a drink after I’d finished a lunchtime tapas tour, which somehow ended up segueing into an impromptu evening tapas tour. Fun times.

andrew cristinaThat ol’ Twitter magic happened again this week when I found out that Andrew @AndrewFriedhoff and Cristina @cristinalndn were in town from London. We’d all been following each other for ages but I didn’t know that Cristina is a Sevillana. Though what I did know is that both are great food & wine lovers, so we made a plan to meet up for tapas. First stop was at the always fabulous Bodeguita Romero, where he had some lovely jamón and a couple of other tapitas, paired with outstanding sherries from Bodegas Tradición. Our starters finished, we went off to meet Cristina’s sister Mónica and her husband Armando at Petit Comité. A wonderful evening with new friends, all thanks once again to Twitter.

Twitter strikes again! My pal Rachel @R_McCormack put me in touch with Pritesh @luvfoodluvdrink and Tareena @TareenaMakeUp when she saw them looking for some Sevilla info on Twitter. I was booked with tours all week but sent them a nice list of fab tapas bars to try out. Then on their last day in town we met up for a quick tapeo, which left me with two new lovely London friends (who may end up becoming lovely Spain friends). I hope so! p and t (1) p and t (2)

salon del vinoSpent a bit of time over the past two days at the Salón del Vino at Andalucía Sabor. I don’t think they’ve done this before – setting up a room where you can try all the wines being presented (so you don’t have to hang around the stands waiting for someone to notice you and give you a sample). Brilliant idea. I much prefer sampling on my own without the bodega rep waiting for my response. Some very interesting discoveries… have been left with a new respect for local wines.
