Twitter strikes again! Claudia @clauciagcbell and I have been following each other on both Twitter and Instagram for AGES (neither of us can remember how long) and we finally got to meet up this weekend. In fact, they have been in town for the past couple of weeks, but “this and that” kept getting in the way. And so we met up to do some Tapas Research together at a restaurant in Triana I had never been to before.

It was a great afternoon and felt like being out with old friends. More Tapas Research and other visits are planned for the rest of their stay here. And with a bit of luck they will also become my new neighbours.  🙂

Tiro la LĂ­nea is a residential neighbourhood some way out on the south side of town, and I wouldn’t normally have a reason to be here, but my friend Anna @annalibera was in town, and as this is her old neighbourhood, I thought it would be a good time to visit the little local market there. A tapeo was mooted, and so, accompanied by friend (and auxilary stomach) Peter @SVQConcierge I set off to meet her there.

adiĂłs sterling, sayonara loki!

Ever since I upgraded to the BoquerĂłn I have been planning on wiping the drive on Sterling so that my friend Tomoko could buy it. To be honest, I kept putting it off because I’d never done this before and it seemed more than somewhat daunting. But when Tomoko said she would be in Sevilla for a couple of days and wanted to take Sterling home I was forced into action. And well, it wasn’t that bad after all, but it did take a very long time (approx 10 hours). The first attempt failed after a couple of hours and I had to start over again. But second time lucky and when I got back from my tour in the evening there was a squeaky clean laptop ready for its new home.

So Tomoko came over yesterday and we set up the newly-named Loki to make sure everything was working okay. After that we went shopping for a case and then Loki the Laptop was gone. Though of course Tomoko didn’t leave without giving Loki the Cat a thorough belly rub.

Last week my friend and neighbour Esteban’s fabulous bar VermuterĂ­a Yo Soy Tu Padre was broken into in the middle of the night. The bastards made off with thousands of euros worth of wines, computers and other equipment. But Esteban and his family rallied and were up and running again in very short order.

So if you live in, or are visiting, Sevilla, stop by to show your support- and also to have some amazing house made vermouths and delicious tapas.

I have been Twitter pals with @GreatOil (Callum & Anne-Marie) for many years and so it was great to finally meet up in person. We went for lunch at La Azotea and I was given a bottle of their premium evoo, which we sampled with some lovely sourdough bread. It’s unfiltered evoo (40% Picudo 60% Hojiblanca) and has quite a nice peppery kick to it. Very nice.

Lunch was great too!
