… just hanging out and doing this and that.
Mostly it’s all about being together, eating good food, drinking nice wine, talking, laughing and feeling good. Pipocas joined us for lunch at La Estrella on Monday and again at casa az yesterday after having a massage next door (La J is a masseuse). I mentioned elsewhere that I think the chemistry between the four of us is quite amazing and we’re all really looking forward to the day trip to Córdoba that we have planned for Friday.
It’s so much fun being ‘on holiday’ with zoomer. There he is during lunch yesterday … later on in the evening we got together again to watch the premiere of the fifth season of House on tv. With more snacks and wine. It’s like having extra family around, which is a very comfy feeling. And I can tell that Nog is also really enjoying having zoomer around again. The only possibly scary bit is that I may be forced to go watch a football match on Sunday … eep!

So I had two hospital appointments yesterday morning with the two different surgeons (colon and liver) as a check up and revision thing. You will no doubt recall that when I saw the oncologist a couple of weeks ago for my updated prognosis she told me that there wouldn’t be any more surgery and that whatever chemo they put me on next would only be a way of slowing things down and not a cure. And when I asked her to give me a survival time frame if I chose not to have chemo treatment she said it would be more or less a year. So imagine my surprise when I got this news …

Road trip (part II) – Saturday 18th OctoberThe next morning we both woke up around 7am, very surprised (and pleased) that we hadn’t woken up during the night … turns out that neither Susan or I sleep a lot. As it was still early and the sun hadn’t come up yet, we enjoyed more time just chatting in the dark … man, I loved that! But eventually it got light and we were in serious need of coffee, so we got up and headed out in search of brekky…

The only plan for the entire trip was that at some point we had to get to Gibraltar so I could stock up on underwear and socks at Marks & Spencer. Other than that, Susan and I were free agents. Though we also had to consider the weather. The forecast said it was going to be sunny on Friday and rainy on Saturday, so we weren’t sure if it might be better to do shopping and fish & chip eating as rainy day activities. . .
